Mark K. Lane, M.D.


Mark K. Lane, M.D.is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement surgery of the adult hip and knee. He enjoys building meaningful relationships with his patients and their families. He believes in taking time to educate his patients and in a “shared decision making” philosophy. His goal for patients is very simple; keep people moving and independent.

A Marietta native; he graduated from Warren High School followed by Marietta College and ultimately went on to study medicine at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. He completed his residency in Detroit, Michigan at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center, where he was honored to serve as Chief Resident in his final year of training. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in primary and complex revision hip and knee reconstructive surgery at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.

Dr. Lane has published research in peer reviewed journals. He has presented research at the regional and national level including at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His research interests include perioperative antibiotic use in joint replacement surgery and surgical outcomes in the rural healthcare setting. Additionally, Dr. Lane serves as Team Physician for Marietta College Athletics and is the Medical Director for the Marietta College Sports Medicine Program. He enjoys teaching and is a Clinical Instructor for the Memorial Health System Family Medicine Residency, the Marietta College Physician Assistant Program and the Marietta College Sports Medicine Program.

When not attending to his busy practice, you can find Dr. Lane spending time with his young family, sons Ethan and Evan, and daughter, Emma. He also enjoys travelling, golfing and mountain biking.
